I have always been a Hemingway fan. I find his simple style, the lack of varnish in his characterizations, and the darkness of his storytelling appealing. I'm also intrigued by his life, especially the years that span his brawling bachelor days in Chicago to the point when he met Pauline Pfeiffer, and shortly after set his otherwise idyllic marriage to Hadley aflame.
